What is the average weight gain for a maltese puppy on a day to day basis if they were born at 5 oz. and how do I know if they are getting to fat. I noticed a pup will suck on mom's skin not teet and not cry showing it is hungry. I was told if they are hungry they will whine but mom has left them for 3 hrs and the pups sleep the whole time. can you tell me why. The pups are 8 days old and wiegh 11 oz. mom is 7 lbs and dad is 5 lbs.
