When I first got my dog I was afraid to play certain games cause I didn't want to trigger aggression. I talked to a dog trainer and she said that playing tug a war is an ok thing only if YOU start the game. If your dog's teeth or mouth come in contact with you just drop the toy and walk away. Doing this will show the dog or puppy that it is not ok to do that. My dog's favorite is playing with the tennis ball. Try all kinds of toys with your dog. If they are chewing it apart take it away. Every dog will have a favorite toy.
