Hi Sharon, I have been a Maltese home breeder for four years now, looking for my little champion. I had emailed you a couple of years ago when I though I had the one to show, but unfortunately she - Little bit" stayed little. She only weighs 2lbs. 2 oz. I now have a couple I would like to show, maybe the cluster in Columbus in November. We have been getting very small Maltese, averaging 2.5lbs. to 6lbs., occasionally larger. I HAD TO PUT MY MALTESE, "MEME", TO REST IN JUNE. SHE SUFFERED WITH CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE AND AT 13 YEARS OF AGE I COULD NOT PUT HER THROUGH ANYMORE TESTS AND MEDICATIONS. I am doing research on Maltese puppies. I am interested in purchasing one. I live in Maine. There are no breeders in Maine so I am searching websites. I have looked into Pomeranians, Bichon Frese, Yorkies, Poodles, and Maltese. Maltese seem to be the best fit. I want a small dog, that I can take with me easily. We have cats and Maltese seem to adapt well to other animals. Is there anything else you can help me with? I have added to the tribe through the years with Pixie (R.I.P.), Maddie (Madison when she is naughty, which is most of the time) and the latest addition is an elderly gentledog, Brodie.....not sure whether he is a pure maltie, but he sure needed a home. Your site is beautiful. We have a wonderful four month old puppy, Glenny's Marshmellow Angel, and we are enjoying her to the fullest. Our main concern is about grooming. She has a dark red stain around her eyes. I have tried various products and washing, but it is still there. Our groomer suggested that we change the diet to one with no beet products. We changed to Proplan. No change so far. Can you give us an idea how to clear this up? Thanks.

I love your website. I have a 4.5 year old Lhasa male who loves to play with SOME dogs. I was thinking about adding a small dog to my home for my Lhasa. I was between a Bichon and a Maltese. The information on Bichons is not promising to me as I am at work during the day, which is why I thought about buying another dog. I am, though, at home at nights and on weekends and alot of vacations and the time I spend with my animals (I also have a Ragdoll cat) is very high quality with constant interaction. Do you have any advice?
